Being Trauma Informed (Histories and Memories)

This half-day session focuses on how one’s history and memories leave a lasting impact on a person. Developed in partnership with Dr. Karyn Harvey, this interactive session will illustrate that being trauma-informed is not just for the people we support, but for everyone. It will explore how small and large traumas in our lives affect us as people. More importantly, the session will explore the key to healing in our day-to-day lives – the importance of nurturing meaningful relationships. Participants will learn practical skills for direct support and develop a deeper understanding of trauma-informed and trauma responsive support.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify and be sensitive to the trauma that many people have experienced and how that trauma impacts brain functioning
